Graduates of Crandall University’s Bachelor of Business Administration degree have proven successful at completing the Common Final Examination (CFE) for CPA Canada.

The CFE is an intensive, three day professional examination which must be completed by those seeking the designation of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

One such candidate – Tara McLean of Moncton, NB – graduated from Crandall in 2015 with a concentration in accounting and is employed by Major Drilling Ltd. as a financial analyst. Ms. McLean was announced by CPA New Brunswick as having “earned the special distinction of being amongst the 69 Honour Roll students who finished in the top 1% in the country.”

“Passing the CFE has become my biggest educational achievement to date,” said Ms. McLean. “There are two major lessons I took away from the experience: first, when people say it’s one of the toughest exams they aren’t lying, and second, Crandall’s Business Program prepared me better than I could have imagined. The case-based approach used by Crandall’s incredible professors set me up for success and I am so thankful to have had Crandall as the foundation for my accounting career.”

“It is exciting to see these three very talented professionals succeed in their chosen field,” said Heather Steeves CPA, the head of the University’s Accounting Concentration. “This is only the beginning of the contribution that these Crandall alum will make to the profession, and we could not be prouder of their hard work and success.”

The Crandall University Faculty of Business Administration offers concentrations in Accounting, Economics and Finance, Management, Marketing, and General Business Administration.
