"Where do I begin? When I first began, there were some major ups and downs, academically and personally. I’ve been brought down to my knees, but more importantly, I’ve been brought up way above my own expectations of myself. I’ve been pushed past my own limits, and I’ve exceeded them.
I’ve met some pretty amazing people along the way, instructors included, who’ve helped push me along in my journey. I’ve spent months applying for jobs in my field, with absolutely no luck. I’m not bilingual, I had no experience. These people continued to push me when I was at my breaking point and on the verge of giving up on myself. I truly don’t know where I’d be right now if it weren’t for their encouragement.
My time at Eastern College has taught me to expect more from myself. To become my best, and then be better. I am now at an incredible job with Horizon Health; the first and only place to give me a chance in my field. This job is scary, it’s frustrating, and it’s hard. But it’s also rewarding and gives me a sense of accomplishment. It showed me what I could achieve, and there are so many more opportunities that I have set goals to reach. Now that I’m here, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be."
