Policing and Corrections Foundations student Clayton Langley originally from Cape Breton is beginning his journey to become an RCMP officer while attending Oulton College.
When looking into how to prepare himself for the RCMP and already having a military background, Clayton felt the program offered at Oulton would be a great stepping stone for him to get ready physically and mentally before applying to the RCMP.
From his perspective as a student, Clayton believes his instructors are definitely what sets the program apart from others. “They all have a lot of knowledge and experience behind them that they bring to the classroom,” said Clayton. “They know the ins and outs of this field.”
Clayton enjoys how hands on the program is and that there is an incorporated On the Job Training placement. “Student Services plays a big role in finding our placements, making it less stressful on students knowing we’ll get a good experience in the field,” said Clayton.
As one of Oulton College’s Student Council members, Clayton also takes on a leadership role in implementing ideas and activities for the student body.
We want to congratulate Clayton on his success in the program so far and wish him the best of luck fulfilling his lifelong dream!
